Herndon-Reston FISH, Inc., is a nonsectarian, non-profit 501(c)(3) organization providing Friendly Instant Sympathetic Help to Herndon and Reston residents in short-term financial crises. Work is performed by a small staff and many talented, enthusiastic volunteers. As a member of the Connections for Hope Partnership, FISH works closely with social workers from Fairfax County, local hospitals, and other non-profit organizations.
Volunteers: Review and evaluate assistance requests to make funding recommendations. Price, stock, cashier and other duties supporting our thrift shop operations. Conduct your own neighborhood collection, encouraging donations of items sold to support residents in need. Offer your talents to support preparation, activities, sponsorships, and publicity at community building parties and fundraisers.
Note: If you are under the age of 18, you must have an adult volunteer with you.
