AFAC provides dignified access to free groceries, which allows families to devote their limited financial resources to obligations such as housing, utilities, medication, and other basic needs. AFAC depends on the help of over 2,000 volunteers. Volunteers bag, distribute, drive, glean, grow, help in the office and warehouse and organize and assist at special events. In any given year, volunteers donate over 50,000 hours to AFAC – that’s $1,500,000 saved in staffing costs that we can use to feed our Arlington neighbors.
